The Journey

This website is a travel blog about our journey through the world on our bicycles. This site is created so that family and friends, those who we stumble upon on our way and those who are interested, can follow us on our journey through the world. Here you will be able to read our stories from the road and watch our photos.

We started this trip at the 27th of July 2009 from our hometown Västerås in Sweden. Our plan is to travel through Europe, The Middle East and South Asia in order to reach India within a year. If you have any questions about something feel free to ask us anything.

Perhaps you are curious about why one would choose a bicycle as a means of transportation when there are a lot of more comfortable ways of traveling? The answer to that question is of course, at least for us, a simple one. And we could really answer the question with a counter question. Why travel with an airplane when you can take your bicycle; and miss the greatest adventure of your life? Instead of only seeing the skies between two different airports you will travel slowly through all the places in between. You will observe how the culture slowly fades from one to another and feel how this change affects your perspectives. But the most beautiful thing about this way of travel is the freedom. It is you, your bicycle and a whole planet to explore.

But just as this journey is a trip through the world it´s a journey within ourselves. We want to grow as human beings and discover the depths of the human mind. The idea is to snap up all the good things on our way and to create something meaningful out of it. You could say that this journey is an attempt to find something true and meaningful to hold onto in life.
